Discussed applying SCRUM as a tool for working with cross-functional teams in companies

SCRUM as a Team Management Tool

On April 25, 2018, another E-learning community meeting took place with the theme “SCRUM as a tool for working with cross-functional teams in a company”.

Speakers

Oksana Stetsenko (Scrum Master at B4.TEAM) and Iryna Kushnir (Agile coach at Box Catering) decided to share their experience on this topic.

SCRUM Theory

First, the speakers introduced participants to the theoretical part of SCRUM.

Cross-functional Team

A group of employees from different functional departments of an organization with the following functions:

  • Managing clients with non-standard requests
  • Internal company projects on top of operational tasks (HR projects, service improvement, quality work, transition to new software)
  • Ambitious projects (launching new products, introducing innovations)
  • Expanding market share through flexible customer approach

Practical Company Experience

After the theoretical part, Oksana shared her experience working with SCRUM at B4.TEAM, and Iryna shared her experience implementing SCRUM at Box Catering.

The speakers explained how they managed to involve branches from different Ukrainian locations.

Scrum Card Game Practice

To conclude the meeting, the speakers conducted the Scrum Card Game, which allowed participants to practically familiarize themselves with the Scrum methodology.
